Curecanti National Recreation Area is a series of three reservoirs along the once wild Gunnison River. The reservoirs that make up Curecanti today are a destination for water-based recreation high in the Rocky Mountains. Curecanti also offers fishing, hiking, boating, camping, and photography.

We are surrounded by spectacular mountain landscapes that make a great day drive getaway. Make our pods your basecamp to explore our area. We have both local scenic loop drives and several Colorado State Scenic drives are close by.

Curecanti offers the hiker diversity of habitat, scenic vistas, wildlife and wildflowers. Trails are available for all ability levels. Pets are permitted on all trails, but must be leashed at all times.

Elk Creek is one of two marinas serving Blue Mesa Reservoir. The large reservoir makes it perfect for boating, sailing, and fishing. It's the place to enjoy water skiing, kayaking, stand-up paddle-boards, and beach time.
